Ten contestants per branch were selected from nominations submitted between 8/12/08 and 10/8/08. Voting for branch contestants occured between 10/30/08 and 12/24/08. Winners of each branch will be voted on to become the national 2009 Military Spouse of the Year through 3/4/09. The national 2009 Military Spouse of the Year will be announced on 5/7/09, the week of Military Spouse Appreciation Day, at an event in Washington, D.C.
